What time can I drop off and pick up my cat?
Overnight boarders can be dropped off and picked up between 10:00am and 11:00am or between 3:00pm and 4:00pm Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays). Cats in day care can be dropped off and picked up during normal business hours (8.30am-5.00pm).
Upon arrival please make your way to our Pet Adoption Centre to complete the relevant paperwork and payment (please allow between 10-20 minutes)
Are there any special requirements before I can board my cat?
All cats must be over four months and be fully vaccinated with a minimum F3 vaccine (tri-annual vaccinations will not be accepted), which must have been given at least 14 days prior to arrival. You must bring the vaccination certificate for staff to sight on arrival.
Cats must be microchipped, wormed and flea treated before entering the facility and we may not be able to board cats with serious medical conditions. Please contact us to discuss.
Do you offer day care for cats?
Yes, cats can stay with us for short periods outside of the Christmas and Easter periods. Short stays can range from a single visit of a few hours to ongoing full day care. This can be helpful if you are moving house, have a tradesman visiting, you need to have chemicals sprayed in your house (fumigation) or a have a number of people visiting.
Is Tango’s Place comfortable?
Yes, we have made every effort to create a comfortable and welcoming environment for your cat, our rooms are spacious and the cattery is temperature controlled 24 hours a day. All cats receive supervised time outside of their suite everyday to have a stretch, play and cuddle with our staff. We also operate a Feliway diffuser throughout the cattery which releases a cat pheromone into the air to make your cat feel secure and relaxed. You are welcome to visit Tango’s Place prior to making a booking. Please contact us to make an appointment first.
What can I bring with my cat?
You are welcome to bring your cat's bed, blanket, toys, bowls and food – any items that are familiar to puss and will help them settle in quickly.
What does the cattery provide?
We provide everything your cat needs: litter tray, bowls, bedding, blankets and a scratching post. If your cat enjoys toys, please bring them with you, or you can purchase toys from our Pet Adoption Centre upon arrival.
Who will be looking after my cat?
Tango’s Place is staffed by trained animal care assistants and veterinary nurses. RSPCA ACT has a veterinary clinic on site and vets available in case of emergency.
You can also view our policy and the ACT Code of Practice for Animal Welfare (Animal Boarding Establishments).
What happens if my cat becomes ill while boarding?
Our staff monitor and record each cat's health and demeanour each day. If anything out of the ordinary is noted, we have our own veterinarians on site or you can request that we take your cat to their usual veterinarian subject to their opening hours, for an extra fee. Please discuss veterinary care with our staff if you have any concerns.
Tango’s Place was made possible by the generosity of Joe and Wendy Lorincz in memory of their beloved Tango.
Income generated by this boarding facility will be reinvested in cat welfare programs at RSPCA ACT.
